Apart
from the factory the Institute has a well-equipped Textile workshop for
providing additional Facilities for training and research. The workshop
contains all essential equipment for spinning, weaving, dyeing,
printing, etc., incorporating recent developments in machine design and
automatic controls. Among other equipment the workshop contains:-

The institute has also an
environment engineering Lab for studying
the 'Application of Textile Material
in Pollution Control'. This Lab
inter-alia possesses the 'MALVERN'
Particle Size Analyzer and
MICROMETRICS Pore Size Analyser-9320
based on Laser Technology and
Mercury intrusion principle
respectively.
A separate laboratory has recently
been set up for experiments/research
in Fiber Science which, inter-alia,

incorporate the 'state-of-the-art'
technology.
The Institute possess a modern and
well-equipped Test House for
carrying out various physical,
mechanical and chemical tests on fibres,yarns and fabrics-natural as
well as man-made. Apart from training
the students, the Test House also
undertakes sponsored research projects. It also provides technical
and consultative services to the
industry and to other organizations.
