and Academic Advisory Body Committee) meetings are held on annual basis.

Nature and Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs/ improvements :
The course curriculum including the syllabi, scheme of studies and the scheme of examinations are regulated by the different academic bodies of the affiliating University, i.e the Board of Studies, Faculty of Engineering and the Academic Council. However, many of our senior teachers are the members of the aforesaid bodies and they are actively involved in the academic affairs/improvement in respect of our undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Students’ feed-back is received on a prescribed proforma regarding assessment of the individual teacher, course contents and other related matters. Their observations/suggestions are given due consideration in the areas warranting any improvement.
Mechanism/Norms & Procedure for democratic/good Governance :
The Institute functions in a very democratic and transparent style. The Institute has its prescribed Service & Conduct Rules which are applicable to all the employees. All the employees work in a channelised system with self-imposed discipline. Suggestions and views from all the employees are given due consideration and the problems/disputes, if any, are sorted out as per established rules and procedures giving due opportunity to all concerned.
Student Feedback on Institutional Governance/faculty performance :
As indicated above, Students’ feed-back is received on a prescribed Performa regarding assessment of the individual teacher, course contents and other related matters. Their observations/suggestions are given due consideration in the areas warranting any improvement.
Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students :
Every employee of the Institute has the right to report, in writing, to the concerned authorities any act of misconduct or actual or possible violation of the Service & Conduct Rules which will be dealt with according to the prescribed Grievance Handling Procedure. However, keeping in view the spirit of the rules, no action is taken against the reporter which can be construed as vindictive, prejudicial or in retaliation against him.
As far as the students are concerned they should report to the concerned Teacher/Hostel Superintendent/Mess Superintendent as the case may be and thereafter to their Head of Department. In case they are still not satisfied they can also approach the Director for their grievance redressal.
